About ME
Hi, I’m Yuxiao Liu — a photographer currently based in London, often found sipping tea and wondering if the dust on my lens cap means something profound. I studied Fashion Management at the University of Manchester, then somehow veered into photography — where, let’s be honest, things make more sense when they’re out of focus.
I’m now doing my MA in Photography at LCC (UAL). My work revolves around the tension between self-perception and artificial nature, and often lingers on the kinds of things people tend to overlook — like insects wrapped in fabric, or the quiet detours of emotion.
I shoot both film and digital, probably because I enjoy delayed gratification and a little bit of pain. Sometimes I just stare at Lightroom and lose all sense of time.

我是刘宇霄，一个目前住在伦敦、拍照、偶尔怀疑人生的摄影师。本科在曼彻斯特大学的时尚管理就读，现在在UAL学习MA摄影。
我喜欢拍一些别人不太愿意仔细看的东西，比如被布料包裹的昆虫、红外线下的树，或者那些拐来绕去的情绪。我的作品常常围绕“我是谁” 、“你看见的到底是什么”这类问题打转，虽然拍着拍着也没得出答案，但画面至少是诚实的。
我用胶片也用数码，大概是因为我对“折腾”这件事有点上瘾。有时候拍完一卷胶片，会觉得人生好像没那么糟！有时候打开Lightroom，又开始怀疑一切决定。
